Wednesday, 26 October 2011 02:29 amLJ's latest release came with a few bonuses: account managers like LJLogin were broken, the friends-list showed only folks' default userpic, and users found themselves in other people's inboxes and editing pages, looking at other people's private entries, almost at random.
The cookie changes that resulted in LJLogin (et al.) being broken are intentional, some new ploy to fight spammers, says the official spokesdude, and easy for the creators of said plugins to fix. Not so easy that they'd reach out to the creators first, or list the change in the release notes so the creators had some idea what to look for and fix, though.
The default userpic showing was a glitch, said LJ, after a mob of people started asking why they're paying for extra userpics if they won't actually be seen, and fixing is underway.
The bit where users find themselves in a total stranger's private files, with access to view private info, change entries, etc.? Don't know, y'all. Glad I'm paranoid about posting most info online anywhere, even in private...
