Contrary weather patterns.
Saturday, 5 September 2009 11:48 amToday's the first day of the Japanese Festival, a three-day outdoor celebration of all things Japanese--culture, language, food, and yes, fandom. O come all ye otaku, to the poor man's con, and be prepared to have people wonder aloud just why your hair is sticking up like that.
Around 4am, the thunderstorms started.
Today's forecast calls for rain, lots and lots of rain, and occasionally, out of the blue, extra rain. To quote, "There are some pockets of locally heavy showers and a few thunderstorms embedded within the broader area of rain." That's right, rain embedded in rain.
It's rain².
It's riding in on a low pressure front, which explains why my head has felt like it was trying to crack itself open for the past day and a half, and it's going to raise the mold count (has somewhat already), which means agony lies in my near future.
But it's not going to make me miss the Festival. The first day, yes, because I don't do soggy well, and because I was dressed to head straight from work to the Garden, so my pants are now hanging to dry, and because all outdoor activities have been cancelled due to rain.
But not the whole Festival!
