Funny you should ask!
The best pick-up line I've ever heard, barring the sheer brass of a young man introducing himself as T-Jeezy, was, "You must be tired, because you've been running through my mind all night. Screaming." You think it's going to be cliché and cheesy, and then, BAM! Funny! It got me talking, at least.
The worst pick-up line I ever heard before this weekend was something like, "Do you want to come up and eat my wife while I watch?" Unh! Skeevy! But at least that one was thrown out in a social context.
Not, y'know, while I was at work. And that's where we get our new winner: "Want to ride me home?" Huh? Ew. Way inappropriate in content and context!
If I'm interested in someone, a bad, boring or cheesy opening line won't instantly turn me off. But plain crude makes me step back and wonder what the hell is wrong with you, every time.

Okay, maybe not the cliff and convertible, but scarves and sunglasses and running from the law? Definitely.
