Cork and beyond (written and entered August 14, 2000)
Wednesday, 2 August 2000 12:00 pmTwo things that must be understood about Mark: first, that he's a nerdy little munki, and second, that he has an animation fetish.
So of course we had to head right into Cork to catch Titan A.E. It's simply unquestionable.
It was a bit too fast-paced. The music selection and score could have been put to much better use. They should've chosen computer-generated images or traditional animation, since they clearly couldn't integrate both effectively, and their attempt to just throw them on the same screen made the faults of both all the more glaring.
That said, I liked it.
After the movie, we headed out to meet L—, girlfriend of one of Mark's best friends. (Actually, we almost missed her completely, but she caught us on the way past.) We popped into a few stores, hanging out, getting a bit goofy, and chatting more than a bit, before heading back to their place and meeting up with Mark's friend C—.
And then, pizza. Piiiiiizzzzaaaaaaaaaaa, and Gino's pizza, at that. (I can say no more.)
