Say it with me: "You have no power over me."

I do not give a fuck about the calculated shock that is Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines".

I do not give a fuck about the manufactured controversy that is Miley Cyrus.

I do not give a fuck about the pearl-clutching sensitivity of people who respond to manufactured controversies and calculated shock.

I do not give a fuck about smug assholes who churn out godawful parodies and pat themselves on the back for how clever they think their godawful smug crap is.

And I sure as hell do not give a fuck about a forgotten singer trying to make a comeback by putting out a godawful parody of a calculated shock song that you only know about because of the manufactured controversy that is Miley Cyrus.

It is not a terrible symptom of society's/the media's blah blah blah blah blah. It is the media playing you by playing on your moral indignation, because they couldn't get you to listen/watch any other way. Hatelistening is still listening! Hatewatching is still watching!

The modern currency is attention, and it converts to money like a dream. You want them to go away? Stop paying them.
