mokie: Earthrise seen from the moon (Default)

Poor homeless polar bear.

Go on, homeless bear, eat a pedestrian. It's okay.

I picked four--four!--big colanders full of grapes off the concord vine before we started cutting it back for the season. The vine was huge, had consumed three milkweed vines and possibly a neighbor's cat, and even after cutting it back, we've still got a big bush the size of two people, loaded with clusters waiting to finish ripening.

Whew.

Four big colanders! That's even with the rabbits, and birds, and the old man across the alley who always asks after their status and I suspect helped himself to the first ripe clusters. (One day I have gorgeous purple clusters all over, the next only green? Hrm.) Even taking into account the amount of green grapes that came along for the ride, that's still a whole lot of grapes.

And between the cranky broken fridge that doesn't want to keep cool properly, and the limitations of my own belly (I can't help it! They make me poop!), most of it went in the trash after less than a week. Dammit! I need to research jamming and pickling. Can one pickle grapes? Let's find out before next year!

About dream/reading tags

y-* tags categorize dreams.

For types: beyond the obvious, there are dreamlets (very short dreams), stubs (fragment/outline of a partially-lost dream), gnatter (residual impression of a lost dream).

For characters: there are roles (characters fitting an archetype), symbols (characters as symbols), and sigils (recurring figures with a significance bigger than a single dream's role/symbolism).

x-* tags categorize books.

Material is categorized primarily by structure, style and setting. If searching for a particular genre, look for the defining features of that genre, e.g. x-form:nonfic:bio, x-style:horror, x-setting:dystopian.
